We act as an independent legal intermediary between buyer and seller, ensuring a secure, controlled and fully compliant transaction process. Crypto transactions involve specific risks in terms of regulatory compliance, legal oversight and execution. Wise Law mitigates these risks through a legal escrow structure comparable to banking escrow and paymaster arrangements. We do not manage or participate in the trading activity itself; rather, we oversee the process, the conditions and the release of funds.
What Wise Law Does — and Does Not Do
Wise Law acts as:
- a legal service provider;
- an escrow agent and paymaster;
- a compliance and process supervisor.
Wise Law does not act as:
- a buyer or seller of crypto-assets;
- a broker, exchange or asset manager;
- an investment or tax adviser.
Strict Compliance & KYC
Wise Law works exclusively with registered clients who meet stringent compliance requirements, including:
- KYC, AML and CIS procedures;
- verification through live video identification;
- assessment of Source of Funds and Source of Wealth.
We operate in accordance with the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft), EU sanctions regulations and recognized international compliance standards.
Mandatory Incubation Period
Each transaction is subject to a mandatory holding period of three (3) full banking days.
This period is essential for:
- due diligence and compliance verification;
- validation of wallets and blockchain transactions;
- mitigation of fraud, reversal and operational risks.
No Price Risk at Wise Law
Fluctuations in the value of crypto-assets — whether upward or downward — remain entirely outside the responsibility of Wise Law, including during the incubation period.
Wallets & Confidentiality
For each project, dedicated crypto wallets are established using the highest available security standards. Wise Law observes absolute confidentiality and does not disclose any information regarding wallet structures or asset holdings, except where legally required.
Conditional Release
Crypto-assets are released only upon fulfilment of all of the following conditions:
- irrevocable receipt of the corresponding fiat payment;
- completion of the incubation period;
- absence of any compliance or fraud flags;
- written confirmation by all parties involved.
Transparent Fees
Wise Law applies a clear six-tier pricing structure, including:
- a negotiable base escrow fee;
- wallet and transaction-related costs;
- any additional agreed services.
